Shay Mitchell‘s Emily Fields and the other “Pretty Little Liars” are holding Alison’s memorial on Tuesday’s (July 27) episode, which means Ali’s brother Jason (Parker Bagley) is back in Rosewood. “He might shake the tree a little bit. I’d love to be able to say which way he shakes the tree,” Mitchell tells Zap2it. “Now that he’s back, he has his own perspective on things. It’ll be interesting to see his whole take on the memorial.”
But Jason isn’t the only blast from the past for the “Liars.” Officer Wilden (Bryce Johnson), who was last seen getting kicked out of the Marin house, is back with a vengeance in light of the Toby Cavanaugh situation at Homecoming.
“He’s wanting to zero in his attention to Emily’s character, like she needs anything else to happen right now,” Mitchell cracks. “He shows up with a little more vengeance than he’s had in the other episodes. With him and Jason and the thing after Homecoming, there’s a lot of things that are going down for sure.”
In addition to the memorial, Emily has some personal life issues coming up as well. The previews make it look as though she’s finally going for it with Maya St. Germain (Bianca Lawson). “Emily is becoming more confident and she’s understanding a little bit more of what she wants, ” Mitchell says. “With everything that’s happening, she’s been going through quite a few things. So now it’s like what does she have to lose? She’s going to test it out.” Read the rest?

Got a secret, can you keep it? I’m in love with Pretty Little Liars. And I can’t be alone: In the last few weeks, every conversation I’ve had about TV has somehow wound its way to ABC Family’s dark little soapy teen drama. The mystery! The ridiculously hot English teacher! The obvious red herrings that we’re falling for anyway! Argh, I even love the Big Chill-homage (almost) opening titles.
The show’s not going to be taking home a Peabody anytime soon, but remember the trashy intrigue of that first season of Desperate Housewives? Remember dying to know what big bad secret Serena was keeping on the first season of Gossip Girl? Remember when Pacey hooking up with his teacher was like, national news? I remember all these things fondly, and PLL scratches those same itches, but with spookier undercurrents. More, please.
Have you fallen for Liars the way I have, PopWatchers? It’s edging out Make It or Break It for me, largely because its characters are way less predictable. Is it taking top teen honors for you?

Amazing news guys!!!! “Pretty Little Liars” has garnered an additional twelve episodes at the cable network. The order, which gives “Liars” a full 22 episode slate for the first season, was beyond predictable–over its first three Tuesday airings, the show has actually grown its audience, a rare accomplishment for a show that premiered to a solid number with an excess of curiosity buzz.
Its most recent airing delivered an audience of 2.740 million viewers, putting it neck-and-neck with ABC Family flagship “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” (2.772 million last week). Among teenagers, last week’s “Liars” considerably outdrew the most recent “Secret Life.”
“‘Pretty Little Liars’ is a break-out hit for the network,” said ABC Family’s Kate Juergens in a release issued Monday. “We’re thrilled that our Millennial viewers have responded so strongly to the show. It’s a perfect fit with the network’s strong slate of original scripted dramas, including ‘The Secret Life of the American Teenager’ and ‘Make It or Break It.’”
CONGRATS to Shay and the rest of the cast of Pretty Little Liars! we can’t wait to see what’s coming!
