Shay is gracing the June 2013 of Self Magazine on newsstands now! We also added 3 gorgeous photos from the photoshoot taken by D Nicks. She looks amazing, check them out in the Gallery!

Simple Truths About Shay Mitchell
She works out in pink boxing gloves, worships what she calls Sophia Loren’s “ba-boom!” curves and unapologetically drinks $2.99 bottles of wine. And when the super fit actress, 26, isn’t playing gutsy Emily on PLL, she’s dishing out advice and inspiration on Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram (home to these pics). If you’re not a “Mitchie” yet, you will be one after reading this.
Her “I’ve Gotta Look Hot in a Week” Plan
Shay-isms to Live By
First, create a vision of the life you want. Then share it—and your wisdom—to get started.
Be happy being you. “Having been a model and knowing what goes down at photo shoots, I feel a lot more comfortable with myself now. When I was 17 and modeling in Hong Kong, a lot of my roommates were unhealthy—laxative teas were big—and I had my problems, too. I’d starve myself for a day, and the next day I was hungry, tired and miserable. When I felt so bad about not being able to fit into size 0 jeans, I realized I had to make a change. Being beautiful doesn’t mean being skinny. It’s about being healthy.”
Live Your Dreams
“When I was living in Toronto and going to my bottle service [waitress] job, I walked down the street as if I were the actor I wanted to be. Back then, my vision board had a Hollywood sign and palm trees on it. I knew this was going to happen. It’s important to wake up every day and remind yourself what you’re working toward. You create your own life. It’s not set out there for you.”
By All Means, Eat!
“I live thinking, ‘If today’s my last day, what’s gonna make me happiest?’ And I do those things. I want to try different foods and enjoy myself, not starve myself to reach a number on the scale. My usuals: for breakfast, an egg-white omelet with spinach and mushrooms; for lunch, a salad with fish or chicken; and for dinner, veggie soup. Oh, and I love potato chips! I can’t say no to pizza! I’ll 100 percent eat a whole pie by myself. If I do, I just move on. No guilt.” Read more?

Shay Mitchell, 26, is a Canadian actress who schemes and smolders as Emily Fields on ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars. As we countdown to World’s Most Beautiful Issue, on sale April 26, she posed for PEOPLE:
Her mom taught her …
“To moisturize! My mom is from the Philippines, where they use coconut oil for their hair, skin, cooking, everything,” says Mitchell, whose father is Irish-Scottish.
Her coolest beauty trick
“I put two spoons in the freezer so [after] those late nights on-set I can wake up, take the spoons out and pop them on my eyes. It gets rid of the bags and wakes me up!”
She’s not really a tomboy
“Even though I play this athletic character on the show, outside of it I’m the girliest. My castmates come to me and ask, ‘Who’s a good facialist? Where’s the new nail salon?’”

Shay is gracing the cover of the April 2013 Issue of Teen Vogue! We added 6 photos from the photoshoot to the Gallery! Shay looks absolutely stunning! We also added the cover! We’re so excited and happy for this!

Shay Mitchell’s first suggestion, when asked to think of something “fun” to do during her Teen Vogue interview, is a trapeze class. “I just love a thrill,” the 25-year-old Pretty Little Liars star explains, shortly after sitting down to her notably less death-defying second-choice activity: making candles. We meet at Make Meaning, a craft lover’s dream on Manhattan’s Upper West Side (Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise are regulars!), and despite the decidedly low-key environment, the Canadian-born actress is serving up some serious Hollywood-style glamour in black leather leggings, a low-cut T-shirt, and a short-sleeved neon pink jacket. “People are always shocked that I don’t dress like Emily,” she says, referring to her far sportier on-screen alter ego. “But I’m not her. I’m more comfortable in heels than I am in sneakers.”
Clearly, Shay isn’t afraid to stand out. But as she talks about her breakthrough role as one of the few lesbian teens on television (“It means so much to me when someone says, ‘Thank you for playing this role’ “) and the charity that’s closest to her heart (the Somaly Mam Foundation, whose mission is to protect women and children from sexual slavery and trafficking), it’s evident that her boldness is more than just skin-deep. Read on to learn all about the outspoken, surprisingly badass chick behind one of our favorite shows.
